Dredging ruins leading Australian Dive Area

Port Phillip Bay has long been considered one of the great cold water dive sites, serving Australia’s second largest city Melbourne. However tourism operators including dive stores are now considering taking legal action to stop dredging in the bay. According to Portsea dive company, Dive Victoria Peter Fear visibility has gone from 25metres to virtually nil and dives are now being cancelled. Whilst dredging is scheduled to finish mid January, all class action suit is being considered as this period of time is the main season for all operators dive and tourism
