This week’s video is from Daan Verhoeven, the fantastic underwater freediving cameraman.
Some places seem to be straight out of a fantasy novel. Many of those places are underwater, like this one, the Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa (MUSAN). It’s very much a real place, in Cyprus, with sculptures by Jason deCairs Taylor placed in such a way that swimming through them, you experience a story. Over time, the statues will become natural reefs, and the story will evolve. Sofía Gómez Uribe is a Colombian freediver visiting Cyprus for a competition, who went for a stroll through the museum on a day off. She felt like she was walking through a fairy tale.
