Tanya Streeter to appear on Animal Planet

World Champion FreeDiver Tanya Streeter is appearing on a new show for Animal Planet called, unsurprisingly, Freediver.

Streeter takes viewers to Belize, Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic as well as the famed Galapagos Archipelago.  As Tanya swims with humpback whales, sharks, turtles, marine iguanas, sea lions, sea turtles, penguins and manatees, she reveals how these animals naturally evolved the skills she’s worked so hard to acquire.  The animals even begin to treat Tanya as one of their own.  While freediving with whales off the coast of the Dominican Republic, Streeter was forced to break several humpback hearts when some of these massive mammals began flirting with her. After spending time with the ocean’s largest residents, she reveals the importance of its smallest inhabitants, diving down to the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere to explore the intricacies of this amazing ecosystem.  Tanya also freedives in the beautiful Blue Hole and becomes the first person to freedive to an eerie underwater cave discovered by the legendary Jacques Cousteau.

The premiere is on Sunday March 12th at 8pm (ET/PT). Check your local listing for details on your local Animal Planet station.
