Bristol Freediving Club in the UK recently turned 6 and will be hosting their first pool competition at Horfield Leisure Centre in Bristol on Sunday 27th November. The cut-off date for entry is 20th November or when all 50 available spots have been filled.
The club decided to host the comp as a way of promoting freediving in the UK as well as bringing freedivers from all over the country together. Their membership has grown every year and the competition is a social and exciting way to encourage newcomers and seasoned freedivers to challenge themselves in the pool.
Sponsors
The event is supported by AIDA, the British Freediving Association as well as PADI, Omersub and DiveSangha. PADI is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2016 and is promoting its new freediving training programme by supporting events worldwide.
Omersub, a leading worldwide manufacturer and distributor of spearfishing and freediving equipment, will be providing prizes for newbies and overall winners in all three disciplines.
DiveSangha have a long standing association with the BFA, having provided GB Team kit for several World Championships. They have offered dry bags and ponchos as prizes. Their clothing is produced ethically with absolutely no plastic bags used, perfect for freedivers with an environmental conscience.
The winners will also receive trophies.
