The third day of the 2015 Caribbean Freediving Cup has finished and the athletes will enjoy a day off today before starting again on Friday. Mexico took the stage on Wednesday with an excellent dive by Estrella Navarro to set a new Mexican National Record in Free Immersion (FIM) with a 60m dive. Estrella spoke to DeeperBlue.com onsite reporter Mandy Sumner and had this to say:
I have set 2 national records in the Caribbean Cup: 60 FIM today and 69 CWT the first day with this I recover all the 6 records in Freediving!! Going for more for Mexico!!
Freediving supremo William Trubridge also managed an excellent 112m Free Immersion (FIM) dive. Here’s what he had to say:
After my last FIM, where I collided hard with the plate at 108m, cutting my head, it was good to ‘get back on the horse’ today and log a clean and easy 112. Conditions and safety were perfect as always, and it’s been a joy so far to compete at the third Caribbean Cup!
