The Coral Restoration Foundation has announced its Coralpalooza event will take place on June 8-9, 2018.
The event is to celebrate World Oceans Day on June 8. The day’s activities are open to all whether they are divers or not.
While there will be activities both onshore and in the water, to participate in the underwater events you have to be a certified diver. Underwater participants will have the opportunity to help CRF staff in planting corals as well as monitoring the health and state of the reefs. The itinerary for the two-day event is as follows:
- June 8: Training and a presentation at the Murray Nelson Government and Cultural Center in Key Largo.
- June 9: Diving day with the CRF staff- Non divers can take part in a Kayaking mangrove clean-up trip.
Taking part in the underwater Coralpalooza will cost US$50/~£37 /~€42 plus boat crew tip.
Taking part in the Kayak Mangrove trip will cost $20/~£15 /~€17.
