Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas Offering Free Shark Specialty Instructor With IDC Package

Been diving for a while and want to take your avocation and turn it into a vocation? If you’re really into sharks and other apex predators, Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas might have just the thing for you.

The folks at Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas are now offering a PADI Instructor Development Course that not only teaches you how to be a dive instructor, they’re also offering a free Project AWARE Shark Conservation Instructor course as well as shark adventure dives as a package deal.

In addition to learning the usual nuts and bolts of how to be an instructor, the Shark Conservation Specialty Instructor addition will teach you interesting shark facts as well as learning what negative impacts are effecting shark populations the world over. Students will also learn the benefits of shark tourism in the Bahamas and how other countries can learn from this model.

Further, students can also earn their Dive Against Debris Instructor and 02 Provider Instructor ratings as part of the package.

Once you’re done with the coursework, Stuart Cove is offering an optional four-to-eight-week internship to get some hand’s-on work experience resulting in a letter of reference as well as advice and info about getting employment and creating a resume.

How long the instructor course itself lasts and how much it will cost will depend on the level of certification you already have. Hayley-Jo Carr, the resort’s Platinum Course Director, can give you a full price breakdown once she knows how much experience you have.

Once you’re done with the IDC, Stuart Cove also offers optional Master Scuba Diver Preparation Courses including five Specialty Instructor ratings, among them Wreck, Deep, Enriched Air, Invasive Lionfish, Naturalist, Self-Reliant Diver, Digital Photography, Navigation, Search & Recovery, DPV, Fish ID, Sea Turtle Awareness and Coral Nursery & Restoration. Just think of how much more impressive your resume would be if you’re able to offer those courses at a dive shop!
