Tanya Streeter announces new Record Attempt

Following on from last years amazing achievement of breaking both the women’s and men’s No Limits Freediving World Record, World Champion Freediver Tanya Streeter has begun preparing for her latest assault on the record books  in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Should she be successful, it will represent a moment in aquatic history that may never be repeated.

The record attempt will take place on July 19th and will again be held in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands of the Caribbean, following the signing of a major sponsorship deal between the 30 year old athlete and The Turks and Caicos Tourism Board.

John Skippings Director of Tourism comments, “The Turks and Caicos Islands has a wonderful land and marine environment, with some of the best diving spots in the Caribbean. We are delighted to support Tanya’s endeavors once again with our own dive specialists. For our islands this is an historic deal and we hope that her work through the year will encourage people to experience the underwater environment and to come and visit our Islands.”

Tanya Streeter was equally delighted with the agreement, “I aim to make history once again in the Turks and Caicos Islands and I hope tourists will come and watch our training dives and the actual World Record attempt. The Turks and Caicos is an idyllic setting for adventure as well as relaxation, ideal for my complex training needs, and the technical expertise on the island is outstanding.”

With time and depth being important factors in Tanya’s attempt at the record, Tanya is also delighted to become an ambassador for the latest addition to the TAG Heuer range of professional sports watches, the 2000 Aquagraph. The 2000 Aquagraph is a chronograph designed for the world of professional diving, with unique features such as the patented auto lock turning bezel and calibre 60 dedicated automatic movement displaying the oversized minute hand in the centre of the dial. Tanya will wear the Aquagraph when she attempts to beat the world record in July, TAG Heuer are delighted to be associated with her.
