Act II of Vertical Blue in the Bahamas kicked off yesterday with 20 athletes announcing performances, including 3 National Records.
Three National Records Set
Three more national records were set today, four of them by women.
- Taiwan’s Wen Hsiang Huang dove a Constant Weight No Fins (CNF) National Record of 71m/233ft.
- USA’s Tory George completed a Free Immersion (FIM) dive to 107m/351ft.
- Uruguay’s Vanessa Estol set a National Record in Constant Weight (CWT) with a dive to 56m/184ft.
Doping Protocols
After the controversy surrounding the Croatian Athletes banned from Vertical Blue for alleged possession of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs), we understand that doping tests are being stepped up across all athletes.
According to people familiar with the matter, all athletes were asked to complete a doping pee test on Day 3 of Act 1. We understand all athletes tested have had clear results. It is unclear if this is being rolled out for every day of the competition.
