No Wins for PFD Team on Final Attempts

The Performance Freediving Cayman 2004 final day of record attempts ended today with no successes for team athletes.

Martin Stepanek aborted his historic attempt on the 100 meter Constant Ballast mark after taking his tag and ascending to within 30 meters of the surface. As was the case with his previous try, on Thursday, Martin concluded, during the ascent, that he could not make it to the surface free swimming, and switched to pulling himself up the rope, thus disqualifying himself.

Doc Lopez encountered equalizing difficulties on his Free Immersion descent, and aborted shy of the plate at 32 meters.

Mandy Rae Cruickshank made another attempt on the women’s Static Apnea world record, but aborted after 5:38, coming up clean .
