Update on AIDA Doping Scandal

AIDA have provided an update on the two athletes who tested positive during anti-doping tests during this year.

Tom SIETAS (Germany) during his World Record attempt made on June 11th, 2004 :

– POSITIVE results for METOPROLOL (beta-blocker)
- Redress procedure requested by the athlete, asking for sample "B" analysis
- NEGATIVE results on sample "B" analysis
- Final decision of the AIDA Disciplinary Commission in progress

Sam STILL (Great Britain) during the "AIDA World Team Championsip" in Canada :

– POSITIVE for PREDNISONE (corticosteroid)
- Redress procedure requested by the athlete, asking for sample "B" analysis
- NEGATIVE results on sample "B" 1st analysis
- POSITIVE results on sample "A" 2nd analysis (WADA counter-expertise)
- NEGATIVE results on sample "B" 2nd analysis (WADA counter-expertise)
- Internal enquiry about this "World Premiere" within the WADA Laboratory
- Final decision of the AIDA Disciplinary Commission in progress
